The Asian Pavement Engineering Society (APES) was initiated by a group of pavement engineering professionals and researchers from 5 Asian countries in 2017. After several meetings, the society was officially registered in Singapore in May 2019.

The society was formed to promote the exchange of ideas, information and cooperation among pavement professionals in the Asia Pacific region. The Society organises various activities to develop and maintain effective relations with professional engineering organisations, academies and learned societies in the region.

APES objectives are:

• Promote and provide international forum for the exchange of ideas, information and cooperation among pavement professionals in Asia​

• Improve pavement technology and skills

• Achieve broader recognition of professionals in the pavement industry

• Promote a positive image of professionals in the pavement industry to the general public
